This is not simply another new McLaren. It is a dramatic farewell to one of the most successful supercar families in the brand’s modern history. 👀
McLaren has unveiled the new 788HS at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, marking the final and most extreme evolution of the lineage that began with the 720S and continued through the 765LT and 750S.
🔥 What Does 788HS Mean?
HS stands for High Sport, a rare designation reserved for some of McLaren’s most focused road cars.
The number 788 reflects the car’s output of 788 PS, generated by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 800 Nm of torque.
⚡ Performance That Leaves No Time to Breathe
✅ 0–100 km/h in 2.8 seconds
✅ 0–200 km/h in 7.0 seconds
✅ Top speed of 330 km/h
✅ Dry weight of only 1,265 kg
🏎️ Formula 1-Inspired Engineering
The 788HS features a new S-Duct bonnet, an F1-inspired rear diffuser, an active rear wing and an aggressive front splitter.
Together, the upgrades generate 10% more downforce than the McLaren 765LT.
It also receives a quad-exit titanium exhaust, carbon-ceramic brakes and centre-lock wheels for the first time in this model family.
💎 Only 200 Will Be Built
Production will be strictly limited to:
🚘 100 Coupe models
🌬️ 100 Spider models
Every vehicle will be individually personalised by McLaren Special Operations, making the 788HS a serious collector’s car from the moment it leaves the factory.
👋 The End of an Era
McLaren describes the 788HS as the definitive and final evolution of the supercar series that began with the 720S in 2017.
The only question now is:
Has McLaren created the ultimate supercar farewell? 🔥
