Hyundai no longer wants to build only the vehicle.

The Group is moving to acquire SoftBank’s entire remaining stake in Boston Dynamics, bringing the company behind the Atlas humanoid and Spot robot dog under full Hyundai ownership once the process is completed. 🤖🔥

🦾 Atlas Enters the Car Factory

Hyundai plans to begin deploying Atlas humanoid robots at its manufacturing plant in Georgia, United States, from 2028.

This is not intended to be a technology demonstration.

The robots could handle repetitive, physically demanding and potentially hazardous manufacturing tasks.

💰 A Major Deal with an Undisclosed Price

Hyundai has not officially disclosed the value of the transaction, while reports indicate that SoftBank’s remaining stake is approximately 9.65%.

The Group originally acquired a controlling stake in Boston Dynamics from SoftBank in 2020 and is now moving to complete the ownership structure.
