Seventeen years after the original V10-powered LFA prototype appeared at the same event, Lexus has brought the legendary name back to the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

This time, however, the surprise came in the form of an all-electric supercar concept, making its unannounced world-first dynamic appearance on the famous hill climb. ⚡🔥

🏁 A Surprise Addition to the Hill Climb

The Lexus LFA Concept was originally scheduled to appear only as a static display in the Supercar Paddock.

Lexus then surprised visitors by sending the camouflaged prototype onto the course alongside the GR GT and GR GT3, with which it shares several performance-focused development technologies.

⚡ An Iconic Name Enters the Electric Era

The new model is not simply an updated version of the original LFA. It represents Lexus’ vision for a next-generation battery-electric supercar inspired by the character of its legendary predecessor.

Its development focuses on three key elements: a low centre of gravity, low weight with high rigidity and advanced aerodynamic performance.

🎨 Low-Slung Design and Aluminium Construction

The concept retains classic supercar proportions, with a long and low nose, a flowing roofline and a two-seat cabin.

It also uses a lightweight, high-rigidity aluminium body frame, while the driver-focused cockpit places essential controls within easy reach.

🚨 No Power Figures or Production Date Yet

Lexus has not announced the concept’s power output, acceleration, battery capacity, expected price or production date.

However, moving the LFA Concept from a static display to its first public dynamic run marks an important step in the project’s development.

The question now is:

Can Lexus create an electric successor worthy of the legendary LFA name? ⚡🔥
